Kay, so I'm basically posting this on all of the UMCRS we have because I don't want it to get deleted...

Intro[/glow]
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be in control of a relationship?
I mean... Nobody really knows what the future holds.
And even fewer people have the power to change what's already been planned for us.
It's fate. Just the way life's supposed to be.
Unpredictable.
No one can really see what tragedies may lie ahead of us.
But then... You wouldn't even consider death a possibility once you were in a successful relationship. Would you?
You couldn't imagine a life without love. Not once you'd already found it anyway.
Well...
Not until after it's already happened...
And before you know it... You're alone again...
That's just the irony of life...
But I guess... Once you've found your soul mate... Death is the last thing on your mind... Right?
Who knows what others could be planning...

Chapter One[/glow]
The bright moon shone, aiding the few failing street lamps that flickered, leaving dim yellow lights to streak across the paths. They only glowed for a short while, before a few died, effortlessly zipping out altogether.
A low humming could be heard in the distance. It grew louder as it got closer, sporting white lights. They glared at her, warning her to back off.
"Don't do this..." Her conscience pleaded. "Don't..."
The car drew by slowly, before stopping completely to let out a passenger.
She shuffled in her spot, anxiously stepping from foot to foot.
"I can't back out now...."
Her attention returned to the scene in front of her when she heard the door click open.
"Bye babe, I'll see you tomorrow..." Came the muffled voice of a female, followed by the echoing slam of the car door.
"No you fucking won't." She thought, grinning to herself.
"Love you!" She heard the driver say, before revving up the engine.
She scoffed.
The car continued it's journey, speeding up as it left.
All that could be heard was the clickety-clack of the girls shoes as she passed.
She observed her, watching her cross the street, before heading toward the barely occupied block of flats. Her home.
The fact that the girl hadn't even moved in with him make her laugh.
The summer heat teased her. A bead of sweat trickled down the side of her face. She viciously wiped it away, concentrating on her task.
When she was sure that it was safe, she crept out of the alleyway. She looked around.
No one.
She inhaled deeply, the scent of dried out vegetation filling her senses. As she exhaled she checked her surroundings again.
"Do it..."
A deranged grin spread across her face as she carefully followed her.
The shiny object glistened in the light behind her back as she went.
"Time to say goodbye, bitch..."

She slid down the wall, putting her head into her hands. Tears fell onto her knees, soaking through her dusty jeans. She quickly wiped them away, knowing that more would soon follow.
A soft breeze rushed through the air, relieving her from the evening heat. She sighed as her long auburn hair floated around her face, before gently landing back onto her shoulders.
She heard the faint sound of hurried footsteps. They slowed as they approached her.
"Emberlynn?" He spoke.
She looked up eagerly, drying her cheeks with the back of her hand.
He sat down before her, squinting in the darkness. She was barely visible in the blurry glow of the street lamps, although he could make out the bruise on her left cheek.
"Oh, Emberlynn.." He sighed, feeling guilty.
She broke down into tears as he comforted her, shaking in his arms as her emotions ran wild.
They sat there for a good ten minutes, until he decided that it would be better if they left.
"You can stay at mine tonight." He told her.
He helped her up, noticing that she was slightly drowsy.
She stared at the ground, feeling empty inside.
"You'll be Okay with me. I promise."
He took her hand, and they exited the alleyway, leaving her tears to dry in the dirt.
She never spoke a word.

Chapter Two [/glow]
He clicked the bedside lamp on, causing a hypnotizing shade of amber to fill the room. She blinked, allowing her eyes to adjust to the new light. He turned around and patted the bed, gesturing for her to sit down.
Once she had done so, he left the room, telling her that he'd be right back.
A few minutes passed, which she spent silently looking around the room from her spot the bed. When she heard him coming back she quickly looked back down at her feet.
"Hey..." He said softly, quietly closing the door behind him.
She looked up slightly, responding with a weak smile.
He put a few things onto the desk. After rearranging them, he turned back around and sat down beside her. She faced him, revealing the cuts and bruises that were spread across her face.
Before he could stop himself, his eyes widened in shock, which startled Emberlynn. She looked down in shame.
"Don't worry. They don't look that bad" He whispered. "But I'm going to make sure that it won't happen again."
He gave her a reassuring smile.
"Thank you." She barely whispered.
"Let's get you cleaned up, huh?" He asked.
She nodded, before repositioning herself.
[glow=white,2,300]--- [/glow]
Emberlynn quietly stared at her hands, whilst he carefully dabbed the last patch blood from her lip with a damp piece of cotton. She flinched, and his hand shot back.
"Sorry." He grimaced.
"It's Okay." She replied, feeling embarrassed.
He threw the piece of cotton into the bin, before sitting on the desk chair opposite her.
"Are you hungry or anything? Do you want anything to drink?" He asked, spinning around to face her.
"Can I have a glass of water please?" She asked politely.
"Be right back." He smiled.
[glow=white,2,300]--- [/glow]
"Do you feel any better?" He questioned, handing her the glass.
She took it, gulping down half of it before replying.
"Yeah, thank you..." She smiled.
"If you don't want to talk about it then I'll understand." He reassured sitting down on the bed beside her.
She placed the glass on the bed stand, before nodding.
"Can we talk about it tomorrow?"
"Sure." He replied.
She smiled.
"Are you tired?" He asked when she started yawning.
"Yeah..." She answered.
"You can sleep here." He said, referring to the bed they were sitting on. "I'll sleep on the floor."
"Really? You don't mind?" Emberlynn questioned.
He slid off of the bed, before feeling around underneath it.
"Yeah, it's no problem." He replied, dragging out a green sleeping bag.
She watched as he spread it out on the floor beside her, flattening out any creases in the material with his hands. She threw him a pillow down, before climbing underneath the covers.
They both got comfortable, before Emberlynn spoke up.
"Thank you so much for everything, Frank."
"It's Okay." He replied.
I'd do anything for you
"See you in the morning." She smiled.
Even though he couldn't see it, he could feel it, hear it in her voice.
"Goodnight." Frank said quietly.
I love you Emberlynn...

Chapter 5[/glow]
"Come on Mikey!" Emberlynn called, urging him to run faster.
Mikey was a few meters behind, and blatantly out of breath. So Emberlynn slowed down a little and he eventually caught up, puffing and panting. She laughed as he glared at her.
"I told you we should have taken the bikes!" She gasped, turning out of the woods and into the street.
They stopped to look around. The setting sun glared back at them, it's orange glow creating long, dark shadows behind them. Mikey held his hand over his eyes while Emberlynn squinted beside him.
"Yeah, well I forgot that you lived this far away..." Mikey muttered. "Can't we just walk the rest of the way?"
She glanced at him, and he looked back at her with pleading eyes. But she was having none of it.
"Nope!" Emberlynn yelled.
And much to Mikey's displeasure, she started jogging ahead. He rolled his eyes and attempted to chase after her.
[glow=white,2,300]---[/glow]
"What are you doing here?!" Ricky yelled, closing the gap between himself and Frank.
Frank continued to step back. He flinched when his back hit the cold wall of the house. Ricky sneered at him. He had him right where he wanted him.
"Uh... I.." Frank stuttered, staring up at him in shock. Paisley barked up at him from Frank's arms.
Ricky really did hate this kid. He was always taking Emberlynn away, always persuading her to leave. And then he'd be left with her Mother, and he'd have to listen to her complain in a drunken state. Well he'd had enough of it. This time Frank wouldn't be getting away with it. He wouldn't be leaving without his mark on him, that was for sure.
'Let's see how tough this kid really is..." Ricky thought to himself.
He swung his arm out at Frank, hitting him on the side of the face. Frank stumbled against the wall, the only thing that kept him from falling. His eyes watered from the pain in his cheek as he glanced into the street, hoping that someone had seen. But he knew this road had always been deserted, it was known as the 'rough part of town'. Frank averted his gaze back to Ricky, who'd taken a step back.
"What are ya gonna do now, bitch?" Ricky taunted. He threw his head back in laughter.
Frank took this as a chance to rebound. He jumped up, pushing him back. Ricky stumbled backward a few steps, but regained his posture within seconds. This was when Frank realized he'd done the wrong thing.
"What the fuck are you doing!" Ricky spat. "Don't you fuckin' touch me!"
He grabbed Frank by the collar and thrusted him up against the wall with a thud. Frank squirmed with pain as Ricky lowered his head toward his face.
"Thought you were gonna get away get then didn't ya?" He chuckled bitterly.
Frank let go of Paisley as Ricky's hot breath hit his face. She ran around to Ricky's side, hopping up at his knee to protect Frank. Ricky kicked the dog away, sending her back into the garden. He slammed the gate shut with his free hand before turning back to Frank.
"Just like her owner huh? A stupid bitch." He spat.
Before Frank could reply Ricky threw him back down to the ground. He kicked him in the stomach before leaning over to pick up the knife that he'd dropped when Frank had pushed him. Frank squirmed in pain when Ricky returned, greeting him with another blow to the back. He was about to bring the knife down when he was interrupted.
